A dramatic incident unfolded off the coast of Turkey as a pirate-themed party boat, the 'Big Boss Diamond', sank near Paradise Island in Marmaris, forcing 148 passengers, including British tourists, to leap into the Mediterranean Sea to save their lives.
Chaos at Sea
The vessel, operating a daily booze cruise, began taking on water near the scenic Akvaryum Bay. Harrowing footage captured passengers jumping overboard as the ship listed heavily to one side. Within an hour, the boat had completely submerged, leaving only its sails visible above the water, surrounded by debris and rescue vessels.
Rescue Operation
Turkish rescue teams were swiftly dispatched to the scene. All 148 passengers, including 20 children, were safely brought to shore. Authorities confirmed no casualties or injuries. The Governor of Muğla province stated, 'Following the report, teams coordinated the evacuation with support from nearby boats. Checks revealed no health problems.'
