A 12-year-old schoolgirl has died after being struck by a double decker bus on a street in Kilwinning, Scotland. The incident took place on Lauchlan Way at around 1pm on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
Police confirm fatal crash details
Police Scotland issued a statement confirming the road had reopened following the fatal crash. Officers received a report at approximately 1.10pm of a collision involving the girl as a pedestrian and a bus on Lauchlan Way. Emergency services attended, but the girl was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family has been made aware.
There were no reports of any other injuries, and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
Appeal for information
Sergeant Stewart Taylor said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the girl who died at what is an extremely difficult time for them.”
