Ngom, 50, was operating a 2006 Freightliner tractor-trailer when he allegedly failed to come to a stop, plowing into multiple vehicles that were stationary in traffic. The impact proved fatal for veterinarian Lynnea Soposki, 36, her husband Luke Soposki, 37, and their one-year-old son Logan, who were all killed at the scene in their 2016 Chevrolet Silverado.
The catastrophic crash left three additional individuals injured, though authorities have not released details about their conditions. Ngom now faces three counts of aggravated vehicular homicide, with additional charges still pending as the investigation continues. This roadwork was part of a substantial $31 million project specifically designed to enhance highway safety, as reported by the New York Post. The reduced lanes and traffic congestion created particularly hazardous conditions that evening when the fatal collision occurred.
