An elderly man has tragically died after being hit by a utility vehicle in the car park of a Bunnings store in Brisbane's eastern suburbs on Saturday morning. Emergency services rushed to the Bunnings Cannon Hill location at approximately 10am following reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a grey Mitsubishi Triton.

Emergency Response and Fatal Outcome

The 82-year-old man from Morningside sustained critical injuries during the incident. Despite the efforts of emergency crews, he was later pronounced dead in hospital. Queensland Police have confirmed that the driver of the Mitsubishi, a 24-year-old man from the nearby suburb of Carindale, was not physically injured in the tragic event.

Authorities have stated that their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is ongoing. No charges have been laid at this stage.
