A 79-year-old woman who died in a crash on the A483 has been remembered by her family as a “loved and respected” great-grandmother. Monika Jones died in a single-vehicle crash in Newtown on Sunday, October 25.
Crash details
The collision happened at around 1.10pm and involved a grey Dacia Sandero. It took place just south of the Laura Ashley roundabout, towards Dolfor.
The A483 was closed in both directions while emergency services attended the scene. Monika died at the scene.
Family tribute
In a heartfelt tribute, Monika's family said: “Our mum was loved and respected by so many people.
“She was so loved, and truly the best mum, grandmother, great-grandmother anyone could wish for.
“She was such a kind and talented woman, and we, her family and friends, are beyond devastated by her loss.
“We love you mum. You will always be with us.”
