Five buses collided outside a busy London Underground station on Tuesday evening, causing traffic “chaos” on London Road near Morden Station.
One person was assessed by paramedics following the crash, which left the entire bus terminus blocked, according to a local resident.
Damage and Response
Photos and footage from the scene show one vehicle with major damage to its front left corner, while another sustained cracks across its lower windscreen. Workers in high-visibility clothing could be seen inspecting one of the damaged buses.
A nearby shopkeeper reported hearing a “huge sound” at the time of the crash. He said: "I think the buses were trying to reverse and then they smashed into each other."
“When it happened, it sounded like a bomb had gone off," he added. The circumstances of the crash remain unclear.
