Karen Cozens, 60, and David Cozens, 52, from Minehead, died after their white Mazda Bongo campervan collided with a Volvo lorry on the A358 in Combe Florey, near Taunton, at around 6.40am on September 30. Emergency services treated the couple at the scene, but they were pronounced dead.
Family tributes to the couple
Ms Cozens' family described the heartbreak and shock that followed the death of their mother and stepfather. In a tribute, they said: "They were both loved by their family and by everyone around them. They loved going on camping trips, watching banger racing and walking their dogs."
The tribute continued: "We will miss them so much and we only wish they had more time to watch their grandchildren grow up." It went on to describe Ms Cozens as "the light" of the family.
Remembering Karen Cozens
The family tribute read: "Mum was an incredible woman who had a heart of gold and was a friend to many. She was the light in our family and the pain of losing her cannot be described."
They also thanked the emergency services, the air ambulance, and three members of the public who tried to help the couple after the collision. The tribute added: "It won't be forgotten."
Tribute from David Cozens' son
Matthew, Mr Cozens' son, described his father as "the jolliest of blokes" whose smile brightened "everyone's day". His tribute read: "Dad always put his family first and was always there for us when we needed him."
He added: "He was the patriarch of our family and always so proud of his children and grandchildren. He was the jolliest of blokes and always loved to have a laugh with everyone. He was the man who always had a smile to brighten everyone's day and the memories I shared with him will live on in my heart always. The days are becoming shorter but the pain of missing you is only getting harder. I know you're at peace and reunited with your mum and dad."
Matthew concluded: "It's not goodbye it's until we meet again, I'll always love and miss you dearly. Dad, your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure."
Avon and Somerset Police said both families continue to be supported by a specially-trained family liaison officer.
