In a terrifying case of neighbourly vengeance, a Midlands woman has been handed a significant prison sentence for a premeditated arson attack that could have had fatal consequences.
Kelly-Marie Dainty, 38, orchestrated a deliberate fire at a neighbouring property on Wrottesley Road West in Wolverhampton. The court heard how the vengeful act was a calculated response to a prior dispute, with Dainty seeking retribution against the family residing there.
A Calculated Act of Revenge
Wolverhampton Crown Court was presented with compelling evidence of Dainty's guilt. She was captured on CCTV meticulously preparing for the attack, using a plastic bottle to carry a flammable liquid to the scene. In the dead of night, she approached the home and deliberately set the destructive blaze alight.
The fire took hold rapidly, engulfing the property and putting the lives of the residents inside in immediate and extreme danger. The swift response of emergency services prevented a tragedy, but the family's home was left severely damaged.

During sentencing, Judge Michael Challinor condemned Dainty's actions as "extremely dangerous" and noted the profound psychological impact on the victims, who have been left traumatised by the event.
In addition to her five-year custodial sentence, Dainty was issued a restraining order against the victims. This legal measure is designed to prevent any future contact or further acts of intimidation upon her eventual release.
