A family-run jewellers in Newport has been left "destroyed" after thousands of pounds worth of goods were stolen in an early-morning robbery. Xclusive Jewellers, on High Street, was targeted on Tuesday, August 18, with £20,000 of stock taken during the incident.
Police launch investigation
Gwent Police has launched an investigation, with inquiries ongoing. The shop has released its own appeal via its social media pages, sharing CCTV footage and asking anyone who recognises individuals captured in the footage to come forward.
Xclusive Jewellers, which has been running for 40 years, buys gold and silver and carries out repairs, alterations and watch repairs, with an on-site goldsmith. The business told WalesOnline that £20,000 of stock was taken during the incident.
Appeal to the community
In a statement, Xclusive Jewellers said: "We are asking for the help of the Newport community to identify a man pictured and the two women who were with him."
"If you have CCTV, Ring doorbell footage, dashcam footage or any other camera footage from this time, please check it. Even footage that may seem completely insignificant could be important."
"Any information, big or small, could help us. If you recognise the man, know either of the two women, saw them in the area, or have any footage or information that could help, please message me anonymously."
