Masked thieves steal £40k of motorbikes in four-minute raid

Ten brand new motorbikes worth more than £40,000 were stolen from a storage unit in Cross Hands, near Llanelli, in a raid that took just four minutes. The theft happened in the early hours of Thursday, October 29, when a group of masked thieves broke into the unit used by Absolute Motocross.

Raid lasted four minutes

The thieves are believed to have first stolen a white Transit van from a nearby yard before travelling to the secure storage unit, which the business used as overflow premises. They arrived at around 4.19am and left at approximately 4.23am.

Owner Jordan Greville-Evans, 31, said the speed of the raid suggested the group knew exactly what they wanted. He said: "They travelled to my secure yard, not the shop itself, but we had an overflow unit down a private lane at a house. No-one knew about it at all, apart from the staff and three drivers."

"They travelled to that, knew exactly where they were going, went straight down the lane, straight to the exact unit. They knew exactly what they were doing."

Bikes stolen and reward offered

Among the 10 brand new bikes stolen were two 2024 Husqvarna TC250s, three 2026 Surron Ultra Bees, two 2025 Surron LBXs, two RFN SXE models and one RFN 70cc pit bike. Five motorcycles were already built and another five were still in their crates.

Jordan said the group appeared to know which bikes were worth taking, leaving behind others that were awaiting engine repairs. He said: "They knew exactly what bikes to take. They just went through the door, took the three brand new Surron Ultra Bees, then took two brand new 2024 TC250s."

"We had about 25 containers, boxes of bikes, in containers, just in the corner, and then underneath in the far corner were two brand new Surron LBXs, the most valuable ones as such. They knew exactly where they were", he said.

Police investigation ongoing

The storage unit had been used temporarily while the business prepared to move into new premises. Jordan said it had no CCTV, alarm system or insurance, as it was a private location that few people knew about.

The white Transit van used in the robbery was later found near the Liverpool border. However, Jordan said there was a gap of around 40 minutes in the journey, which has left him questioning whether the motorcycles were unloaded elsewhere before the van was abandoned.

Since the theft, Jordan has launched a widespread appeal for information, with his social media posts attracting more than three million views and thousands of messages. He has also offered a £10,000 reward for the safe return of all the stolen bikes.

"The response we've had has been crazy. We've had tens of thousands of messages in on my personal Facebook and on the company socials. Every local company, every local business is either contacting me or when I walk into the cafe or the local shop or the gym, everyone's asking me", he said.

A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesperson said: "Officers are investigating a report of a burglary at an address in Cross Hands which happened between 4.20am and 4.30am on Thursday, October 29. It is reported that damage has been caused to the property and a number of off-road bikes have been taken. The investigation is ongoing."

Jordan, originally from Cross Hands, started Absolute Motocross eight years ago after returning from living in America. He began buying and selling motorcycles in his spare time while working full-time as a fencer, starting out of his parents' garage before moving into a rented shed. The business moved into its current premises around six years ago and now employs 14 people.
