Big Brother star Henry Southan has revealed he was targeted by a masked phone thief in a bizarre incident at an O2 store. The 27-year-old took to Instagram to share how the thief snatched what he thought was his new phone, only to have taken an empty box.
Southan explained that he had been upgrading his phone and was in the process of transferring data from his old device when the thief struck. “This masked man came into the shop and grabbed the empty box that my new phone was in and he ran out,” he said.
The reality star expressed embarrassment for the thief, describing him as a “s**t thief.” He added that the thief’s accomplice called him an “idiot,” remarking, “You just couldn’t write it.”
The incident comes amid a spate of phone thefts targeting celebrities. Bridgerton star Genevieve Chenneour recently said she no longer feels safe in London after being attacked in February 2025. She told LBC she has left the capital due to anxiety.
Actress Rosamund Pike also recounted a 2006 mugging in which a thief punched her in the face and snatched her phone while she was speaking to her mother. She described the ordeal as “15 minutes of hell.”
