Emily Damari, a British national held captive in Gaza, has spoken out about the brutal conditions she endured during her imprisonment. In a chilling account, she describes being confined in a cage-like structure, treated "like an animal," and subjected to relentless suffering under the supervision of a surgeon referred to as "Dr. Hamas."
A Living Nightmare
Damari's ordeal began when she was taken hostage by militants in Gaza. Forced into cramped, unsanitary conditions, she recalls being locked in a cage with minimal food or water. "I was stripped of my dignity," she said. "They treated me as less than human."
The Surgeon of Suffering
Among her captors was a man known only as "Dr. Hamas," a surgeon whose presence brought not relief but agony. Damari claims he deliberately left her in constant pain, refusing proper medical care. "Every movement was torture," she revealed.
Pleading for Others
Despite her own suffering, Damari repeatedly demanded her captors release fellow hostages. "I told them, 'Let my friends go—they don’t deserve this,'" she said. Her pleas, however, were ignored.
Psychological Torment
Beyond physical abuse, Damari endured psychological warfare. Her captors manipulated her with false promises of freedom, only to prolong her captivity. "They played mind games," she said. "One day they’d say I’d be released, the next they’d laugh in my face."
A Call for Justice
Now free, Damari hopes her story will shed light on the plight of hostages still held in Gaza. "No one should suffer like this," she said. "The world needs to act."
