Baba Vanga, the blind mystic often called the "Nostradamus of the Balkans," predicted that World War Three will break out before the end of 2026, along with the rise of a new Russian leader. The prediction comes as Vladimir Putin issues fresh nuclear threats against Britain over its support for Ukraine.
New Russian leader and alien encounter predicted
The seer, known for supposedly predicting events such as the death of Princess Diana, foresaw a direct clash between Russia and the US, with a new Russian leader emerging in 2026. This would bring an end to Putin's 26-year rule. Baba Vanga also predicted an alien encounter in November and anticipated shifting geopolitical landscapes as the Kremlin launches fresh threats.
While her predictions for 2026 remain unconfirmed, many are worried about what lies ahead. The mystic said World War Three will bring a new era of political turmoil, sparking a huge conflict between world powers.
Putin's nuclear warning over Kaliningrad
Putin warned of deploying his nuclear arsenal against Britain due to the UK's backing of Ukraine during the conflict with Russia. He said the world was living through a dangerous moment and warned the West not to escalate a standoff over Ukraine by threatening the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad, which Moscow has made clear it would defend with nuclear weapons if necessary.
Locked in a war in Ukraine which he said Russia had no choice but to launch in order to safeguard its own security, Putin said Russia had no plans to attack any European country and wanted to coexist peacefully.
"If it comes to a direct attack on the Russian Federation – in this case, we are referring to Kaliningrad, and perhaps other territories as well – the question of the Russian Federation deploying all the weapons at our country's disposal will, of course, inevitably and immediately be on the agenda," Putin told the Valdai Forum of international Russia experts in Moscow. "This is inevitable," he added.
UK warned over drone strikes
In August Moscow responded with fury after learning that British-manufactured long-range drones had been used in Ukrainian strikes deep inside Russian territory, and rapidly issued threats of reprisal.
"The United Kingdom is acting as an accomplice and co-perpetrator of the bloody crimes and terrorist attacks committed by Ukrainian neo-Nazis," the Russian Embassy in London warned in a statement.
"London's actions will inevitably carry consequences for which it will have to answer ... The deeper its involvement in the conflict and the greater its support of Kiev's terrorist machinery, the higher the price it will pay."
