Woman gang raped after promised medical treatment

A man and a woman have been arrested over the alleged gang rape of a woman in Satkhira Sadar, Bangladesh. The purported victim was reportedly promised medical treatment at a private clinic before the incident.

Alleged Incident Details

The alleged incident occurred in a rented house in the Tala Bridge area. The woman had been told that it was too late to find a doctor. A man is said to have claimed to have worked at a clinic in Satkhira and, with the alleged assistance of a woman at the house, purportedly gave the victim a sedative mixed in her food.

The woman was then allegedly raped once she was unconscious. It is reported that she was raped several times in the same night.

Police Response and Arrests

The woman reported the alleged rapes at a police station the next morning. Police officer Md Abu Bakar Siddique said, according to the Business Standard: "Tala Police Station Case No 10 was filed on 14 August 2026 against two men and a woman."

The victim was sent to hospital for treatment. Police made two arrests during a raid on Sunday.
