NJ Babysitter Charged with Sex Assault, Snapchat Video

Victoria Anne Cranmer, a 25-year-old babysitter from Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey, has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a young boy and posting a video of the abuse on Snapchat, according to court documents.

Discovery of the Video

The allegations came to light when Cranmer's former roommate, identified in court records as 'Ms. P', discovered a 14-second video on a mobile phone that Cranmer had returned after being asked to leave the house. The video, recorded on May 6, showed Cranmer laughing while 'acting inappropriately' with a child under 13 in a bathroom, the affidavit alleged.

Ms. P told police she 'freaked out' after viewing the clip, saved it to her own phone, and locked Cranmer out of the Snapchat account. The video was posted to Snapchat, authorities said.

Identification and Investigation

Police identified Cranmer through distinct tattoos, including one on her leg depicting 'boobs', her voice, and the bathroom where the video was recorded, which matched her own residence. A search of the phone uncovered additional videos of Cranmer and the child in the bathroom, with at least one posted to Snapchat.

Court documents also revealed that Cranmer often babysat for Ms. P's daughter and the young son of another woman, referred to as 'Ms. H'. The mother of the boy noticed her son behaving strangely and developing a dislike for bathtubs after spending time with Cranmer. She later learned that Cranmer would bathe with her son, the documents stated.

Charges and Arrest

Authorities were alerted, and Little Egg Harbor Police Department detectives seized the phone on May 28. Cranmer was arrested last Tuesday and taken to Ocean County Jail. She faces charges of endangering the welfare of a child, manufacturing child sexual abuse material, and possession of child sexual abuse material.

While initial reports indicated the child was under 13, the filing refers to the victim as being in nappies, according to Patch.
