Police have launched an investigation after a man wearing a mask allegedly exposed himself to a woman in her 60s while she was walking her dog through Southampton Cemetery. The incident occurred on Monday, July 6, 2026, according to Hampshire Constabulary.
Incident Details
The woman was walking her dog through the cemetery at around 10:30 AM when she encountered a man who is described as wearing a dark-colored mask and clothing. He reportedly exposed himself before fleeing the scene. The woman was left distressed but unharmed.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Detective Constable Sarah Jenkins of Hampshire Constabulary said: “This was a distressing incident for the victim, and we are doing everything we can to identify the man responsible. We urge anyone who was in the area at the time or who has any information to come forward.” Police have appealed for any potential witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to contact them.
Southampton Cemetery is a public space popular with dog walkers and joggers. Authorities have increased patrols in the area following the incident.
