Former world snooker champion Graeme Dott has been found guilty of sexually abusing two children. The 49-year-old was convicted following a trial at the High Court in Glasgow on Monday, August 24.
Historic charges span two decades
The charges relate to incidents between 1993 and 1996 involving a girl, and between 2006 and 2010 involving a boy, both of primary school age in the Glasgow region. Dott had denied both charges, claiming the allegations were fabricated, and testified that there was "absolutely no way" the events happened.
Suspension by WPBSA
Following the emergence of the legal proceedings, Dott was suspended from competition by the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA).
