A man who travelled more than 300 miles armed with a zombie knife to attack a woman in her own home has been sentenced to life in prison.
Jordan Honey, 29, of Felixstowe in Suffolk, appeared at Exeter Crown Court on Tuesday, November 3, after being convicted at trial of intentional strangulation, causing grievous bodily harm, and three other offences. The court heard how Honey assaulted his victim in October 2025.
The Attack
Honey travelled for hours by train from Suffolk to Devon, armed with the knife, to confront the woman at her home in Torquay. He sent the victim a number of threatening messages before arriving at the property and barging his way inside, then flashed the knife.
The 29-year-old held the knife and gestured towards the woman's stomach, then cornered her and hit her in the neck with it. He pressed the knife against her neck and began stabbing the wall, making repeated threats that he was going to kill the victim and her family.
Victim's Courage
The victim grabbed the knife to try to push it away, injuring her hands as she tried to protect herself. Honey then grabbed her by her hair, punched her in the face, and bashed her head against the floor by her hair. During the attack, he said 'I’m going to kill you now' before a neighbour intervened and Honey fled the scene.
He was arrested at his father’s house in Suffolk the following afternoon, where officers seized the zombie knife. The victim was treated at hospital for wounds to her hands.
Police Response
Detective Constable Joseph Wynne-Davies said: “This was a truly terrifying attack in which the completely blameless victim thought she was going to die.
“Honey took the decision to arm himself with a potentially deadly weapon and travel for many hours to Devon. On this journey Honey had ample time to recognise that carrying the weapon was highly dangerous and could be deadly.
“Once he arrived at the address Honey exploded into violence before eventually leaving the scene and returning to Suffolk where he was arrested. Zombie knives are incredibly dangerous and there are countless examples of when they have caused fatal injuries. It is partly due to good fortune that this wasn’t the case in this incident.
“I would like to thank the victim who has been incredibly courageous in describing what happened to her and remaining engaged throughout the court process.
“It is thanks to her bravery that an incredibly dangerous man has been sentenced to a life term including a significant period in custody.”
Honey was sentenced to a life sentence with a minimum term of 15 years.
