Russell Brand told to 'right the wrongs' as Sachs' grand-daughter blasts 'unwell sex addict'
Brand told to 'right wrongs' as Sachs' grand-daughter blasts him

Andrew Sachs' grand-daughter has called Russell Brand "a seriously unwell sex addict" and told the convicted rapist to "right the wrongs" following his conviction for rape and sexual assault. Georgina Baillie, the woman at the centre of Brand's 2008 "Sachsgate" scandal, said the testimony of his victims had been "compelling" and added: "Justice has been served."

Sachsgate Scandal Resurfaces

Baillie said the infamous BBC Radio 2 prank calls by Brand and his then-friend Jonathan Ross shattered her relationship with her late grandfather. The pair left three lewd voicemails for the Fawlty Towers star, with Brand bragging about sleeping with Georgina, who was 21 at the time.

He shared graphic details in the phone calls that were broadcast on air. The scandal saw Brand resign from the BBC and Ross suspended from his TV show for three months.

Conviction and Calls for Amends

On Thursday (November 5), Brand was found guilty of one rape and three sexual assaults. Georgina, 41, who had a consensual relationship with Brand, said it's now "obvious" to her he is a sex addict and declared: "That boy is seriously unwell."

She said she's "disappointed" with the comedian and wants him to "own up and make the amends" after being found guilty. And she added: "I now want Russell to right the wrongs. I want those victims to get some help."

Apology and Rehab

Brand apologised to her 11 years after the stunt and paid for rehab after she turned to booze and drugs, but she lost out on eight years with her grandad as the pair stopped speaking. Georgina made up with her grandfather before he died, aged 86, in 2016.

Brand has been remanded in custody and will be sentenced tomorrow. The judge told him to expect a "significant" jail term.
