Hassan Khan, a 22-year-old from Accrington, has been sentenced to 38 months in prison after being caught with heroin and crack cocaine on two separate occasions within a year. He pleaded guilty to possession of the class A substances with intent to supply.
Arrests and Court Appearance
Khan, of Fountain Street in Accrington, appeared at Burnley Crown Court on Thursday, October 15, where the sentence was handed down. Lancashire Police confirmed he was first arrested in March 2025 when officers found him in possession of heroin and crack cocaine.
He was arrested again in June 2026 after being found with the same substances, along with almost £700 in cash. The 38-month jail term was imposed on Thursday.
Police Response and Operation Warrior
Sergeant Jade Hutchinson from the Hyndburn Taskforce Police Team said the sentence reflected the force's commitment to disrupting local drug supply. "Drugs bring harm and criminality to our communities, and we will continue to disrupt activity through proactive policing, to make sure our communities are safe places to live, work and visit," she said.
Hutchinson also highlighted the role of public information: "The information we receive from the public is invaluable to the police and without it we would be unable to carry out this sort of proactive work."
The case is part of Operation Warrior, Lancashire Police's initiative against serious and organised crime, supported by Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw. The operation targets individuals and gangs involved in crime, as well as issues such as violence, intimidation, large scale drug supply, exploitation, and fraud, all of which can cause serious harm to local communities.
