A mother has been left horrified after accidentally leaving her baby in a taxi, an incident that has resulted in her being banned from using the ride-hailing app involved.
The shocking incident unfolded when the woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, was travelling with her infant. Distracted by her phone and other belongings, she exited the vehicle without realising her child was still inside.
"I was in complete panic," the mother later recounted. "It was the most terrifying moment of my life."
Thankfully, the taxi driver noticed the baby shortly after and immediately alerted authorities. The child was unharmed and swiftly reunited with the mother.
However, the ride-hailing company took swift action, banning the mother from using their service. A spokesperson stated, "While we sympathise with the situation, passenger safety – especially that of children – is our top priority."
This incident has sparked debate online, with many parents sharing their own close calls while others criticised the company's decision to ban the mother.
Child safety experts have since urged parents to double-check vehicles before exiting and to use reminders such as placing essential items next to the child's seat.
