The distraught husband of a British woman who disappeared while on holiday in Greece has opened up about the terrifying moment he realised his wife had vanished, describing it as the start of a "living nightmare".
In an emotional interview, he recounted the events leading up to her disappearance, revealing how panic set in when she failed to return from a solo walk along a coastal path.
The Disappearance
According to the husband, his wife had left their accommodation early in the morning for a routine walk, a habit she had maintained throughout their holiday. When she didn’t return by midday, he grew increasingly concerned.
"I knew something was wrong immediately," he said. "She always carried her phone and was punctual. When I couldn’t reach her, that’s when the nightmare began."
Search Efforts Intensify
Local authorities, along with volunteers, have been combing the area where she was last seen. Helicopters, drones, and search dogs have been deployed in a desperate bid to locate her.
Despite extensive efforts, there have been no significant leads, leaving family and friends clinging to hope.
Family’s Plea for Help
The missing woman’s family has issued a heartfelt plea for anyone with information to come forward. "We just want her home safe," her husband said, his voice breaking with emotion.
British consular officials are assisting Greek authorities in the investigation, while social media campaigns have amplified calls for public assistance.
Ongoing Investigation
Police have not ruled out any possibilities, including foul play or an accident. The case has drawn widespread attention, with many expressing solidarity with the family.
As the search enters another day, the husband remains hopeful but acknowledges the agonising uncertainty. "Every second feels like an eternity," he admitted.
