Law enforcement authorities in Louisiana are engaged in an urgent and extensive search for two dangerous inmates who escaped from a parish jail on Friday. The fugitives, one of whom is a suspect in a murder case, broke out of the Ascension Parish Jail in Donaldsonville, sparking a major security alert.
The Escape and the Fugitives
The escape occurred in the early hours of Friday, 5th December. The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office confirmed that Travis Boudreaux, aged 31, and Jatarrius Ginn, aged 22, managed to flee the detention facility. Boudreaux was being held on a charge of second-degree murder, while Ginn was in custody for charges related to the illegal carrying of weapons and drug possession.
Officials have released descriptions of both men to aid the public. Boudreaux is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing around 160 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. Ginn is a black male, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing roughly 140 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Both were last seen wearing orange prison jumpsuits.
The Manhunt Intensifies
In response to the jailbreak, a significant multi-agency operation has been launched. Sheriff Bobby Webre stated that deputies, alongside assisting agencies, are utilising every available resource to recapture the escapees. This includes ground patrols, K-9 units, and aerial assets scouring the area.
The community surrounding Donaldsonville, located about 60 miles west of New Orleans, has been urged to exercise extreme caution. Residents are advised to lock their doors, secure their vehicles, and report any suspicious activity immediately to 911. Authorities have warned the public not to approach the men, as they are considered dangerous.
