A woman has been charged with murder and perverting the course of justice after the body of a man was found in the back of a van in Leicester.
Discovery in Leicester Car Park
Leicestershire Police said the remains were discovered after officers forced entry to a white Ford Transit van in a car park on Garden Street, Leicester, at around 5:30pm on May 27. The action was prompted by a member of the public who reported concerns about the condition of the vehicle.
Arrest and Charges
The van was registered to an address in west London, leading to the arrest of a woman in Hounslow on Friday. Following investigations by the East Midlands Special Operations Unit, supported by Leicestershire Police, the case was transferred to the Metropolitan Police.
The Met Police confirmed that Harinder Kaur, 39, of Sutton Dene in Hounslow, west London, was charged on Tuesday with murder and perverting the course of justice. She is scheduled to appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court the same day.
Victim Identification
The victim is believed to be a man in his 30s, according to the London force. Authorities are working to identify him and inform his next of kin.

Officers are urging anyone with information, doorbell or dashcam footage that may have captured a white Ford Transit with the registration BF18 VNV travelling to Leicester from London to contact police via 101, quoting reference 9873/28MAY.
