Two teenagers, Ethan Ives and Michael Griffiths, have been handed prison sentences for a vicious attack on a homeless man in Westminster, which left the victim with severe, life-altering injuries.
The assault, described by the judge as "utterly senseless," took place in the early hours of the morning near Charing Cross. The victim, a 40-year-old man, was sleeping rough when he was subjected to a sustained and brutal beating.

According to court reports, Ives and Griffiths, both 18, kicked and punched the victim repeatedly, causing fractures to his face and skull. The attack only ceased when a passerby intervened, prompting the assailants to flee the scene.
