
A 17-year-old boy has died after being stabbed on a bus in Woolwich, south-east London, in what police describe as a "shocking act of violence."
The victim, named locally as Kelyan Bokassa, was attacked in broad daylight on a busy route, leaving the community in shock. Emergency services rushed to the scene but were unable to save the teenager.
Police Launch Manhunt
Metropolitan Police have launched a murder investigation and are appealing for witnesses. Detectives believe the attack was targeted but have not yet confirmed a motive.
Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie said: "This was a brutal attack on a young man with his whole life ahead of him. We are doing everything possible to bring those responsible to justice."
Community in Mourning
Friends and family have paid tribute to Kelyan, describing him as a "kind-hearted and bright" young man. A makeshift memorial has been set up near the scene of the attack.
Local residents have expressed their horror, with one witness saying: "It’s terrifying that something like this can happen in the middle of the day."
