
A 19-year-old male is in police custody after being arrested on suspicion of murder, following a tragic incident in East London that saw a woman fall to her death from a residential tower block.
The Metropolitan Police were called to the scene in Newham shortly after 3:15pm on Tuesday afternoon following reports of a woman having fallen from a height.
Despite the rapid response of emergency services, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Ongoing Investigation at the Scene
Following the incident, a significant police presence remained at the location throughout Tuesday evening and into Wednesday. Cordons were put in place as forensic officers conducted a meticulous examination of the area.
A suspect was swiftly identified and located by officers. The 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to a local police station for questioning.

While an arrest has been made, detectives from the Metropolitan Police's Specialist Crime Command continue to investigate the full circumstances leading to the woman's death.
Officers are likely to be conducting door-to-door enquiries and reviewing any available CCTV footage from the vicinity of the tower block as part of their ongoing investigation.
