Sydney Man Charged Over Online Harassment of Delta Goodrem
Sydney Man Charged for Harassing Delta Goodrem Online

A Sydney man has been charged in connection with the alleged online harassment of Australian pop star Delta Goodrem, as police also pursue an apprehended violence order (AVO) to ensure the singer's safety.

Daniel Elias Tadros, 33, is scheduled to appear before Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday after being charged with using a carriage service to menace, harass, or offend. The charges are believed to relate to online messages allegedly directed at Goodrem while she was abroad.

New South Wales Police have additionally applied for an AVO on behalf of Goodrem against Tadros, seeking to legally restrict his contact with the singer.

This incident is not the first time Goodrem has been targeted by unwanted attention. Over the years, the pop star has experienced several documented cases of stalking and harassment. In one widely reported case, a different individual repeatedly sent her hundreds of messages on social media, including declarations of love, and even showed up at her Sydney apartment building despite being instructed to stop.

In that earlier case, police obtained an AVO prohibiting the man from contacting Goodrem, attending her performances, or approaching her residence. He was later convicted of stalking-related offences and breaches of the order after continuing to approach and communicate with her. Court documents noted that he appeared at her apartment on Valentine's Day, attempted to leave gifts, and returned multiple times after being turned away by building security. The situation escalated to the point where police intervention and court-imposed restrictions were necessary.

Goodrem recently returned from Vienna, Austria, where she competed in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, ultimately placing fourth. Reflecting on her experience, she told Sunrise: "I think I went into it just wanting to be proud of what I did, and all you can ever do in life is, you know, just do your very best. I really went into it wanting to enjoy it. It's an honour to get to do that, and to represent."

Looking ahead, Goodrem is preparing for the release of her eighth album, Pure, scheduled for November 6. In a statement, she described the album as "an album I've been creating and living through over the past few years, and it truly feels like a return to myself and the heart of who I am as an artist." She added, "It holds some of my biggest singalongs, my most vulnerable moments, and brings in all the elements I love most in music - from intimate classical piano pieces to uplifting cinematic anthems. I cannot wait for everyone to step into the world of Pure and make these songs part of their own story too."
