Stratford station in east London was evacuated and temporarily closed on Friday evening after a large fire broke out beside railway tracks, causing disruption to all routes to and from the station.

Firefighters Tackle Blaze Alongside Railway

London Fire Brigade said eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters were called to the scene at Stratford train station. The fire involved an area of dense shrubbery near the railway line, which was alight.

The brigade advised the public to avoid the area while crews worked to safely extinguish the fire. The station was evacuated and closed as a precaution.
