A desperate search operation continues in Far North Queensland as authorities scramble to find two fishermen who vanished during a fishing trip and haven't been seen for days.

Kealin Paul and John Francisco were reported missing after failing to return from their expedition on Friday. The alarm was raised when their white and blue 4.3-metre tinny was discovered abandoned near Hinchinbrook Island, approximately 200km north of Townsville.

Massive Air and Sea Search Underway

Queensland Police have launched an extensive search operation involving multiple agencies. Water Police, the Coast Guard, and rescue helicopters have been scouring the waters between Hinchinbrook Island and the coastal town of Cardwell.

The discovery of their empty boat has heightened concerns for the men's safety. Police confirmed the vessel was found unoccupied, sparking immediate fears for the fishermen's welfare.

Community Hopes for Safe Return

Local communities along the Queensland coast are holding out hope as search efforts intensify. The waters around Hinchinbrook Island are known for their beauty but can be treacherous for small vessels.

Police are urging anyone with information about the men's whereabouts to come forward immediately. "We hold significant concerns for both men and are using all available resources to locate them," a police spokesperson stated.

The search continues as authorities work against time to find the missing fishermen and bring them home safely to their families.
