Electrical retailer Hughes has announced it will close eight of its stores this weekend, affecting 35 staff members. The company, founded in 1921 and headquartered in Lowestoft, said the decision was made to ensure long-term success amid rising costs and changing shopping habits.
Chief executive Mark Wardell informed staff of the closures earlier, stating they would be supported through the process. He noted that many affected employees had been with the company for a long time and had 'played a huge part' in the business.
