Police in Rochdale have launched an appeal to trace a woman who may have recently given birth, after suspected human tissue was found near a junction in the town.
Shortly before 9am on Thursday (October 22), officers were called to reports of suspected human tissue located near the junction of Watkins Street and Charter Street.
Officers Urge Woman to Seek Medical Help
Detective Inspector Daniel Daly from GMP's Rochdale CID said: "Since receiving the report earlier today, we have been carrying out a number of lines of enquiry but our priority is to find the woman and make sure she is safe and well."
"She may be in need of urgent medical attention, and she is our absolute priority at the moment - that is why we are asking anyone with information to contact us."
Appeal for Information
Anyone with information, or who may have seen a woman in distress, is asked to call police on 101 and quote incident number 684 of 22/10/2026.
