The incident occurred in the coastal town of Southport, where a small number of dedicated 'Swifties' attempted to establish an early basecamp. Officers from the force were required to intervene, politely but firmly explaining that such premature camping would not be permitted.
In a statement released across its social media channels, Merseyside Police addressed the situation head-on: "We have been in contact with a small number of people who were attempting to camp in Southport ahead of the Eras Tour in Liverpool. We have explained that camping is not permitted and they have moved on."
