
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has launched a major investigation following a serious assault on one of its officers in Lisburn on Saturday evening. The shocking incident has sent ripples through the local community and prompted a strong response from law enforcement.
The attack occurred in the Hill Street area of the city at approximately 10:20 PM. According to initial reports, the officer was on duty when the assault took place. The individual responsible fled the scene immediately after the attack.
Appeal for Witnesses
PSNI detectives are now urgently appealing to the public for information. They are particularly keen to speak to anyone who was in the Hill Street or Wallace Avenue areas around the time of the incident who may have witnessed the assault or noticed any suspicious activity.
"Our investigation is at an early stage, and we would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything, or who may have dash-cam, CCTV or other video footage, to get in touch with us," a PSNI spokesperson stated.
