The footage shows an individual approaching the building on Pelham Street, near the junction with Smithy Row, and deliberately removing the flag. Officers are treating the act as a clear case of criminal damage.
Appeal for Witnesses
Police are now urging anyone who was in the area around 4:15 PM on Monday, 20th May, and may have witnessed the event to come forward. They are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who might have additional video footage from mobile phones or dashcams.
A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police stated, "We were called to a report of criminal damage at a building on Pelham Street. Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing as we work to identify the person responsible."
