Police are searching for a man believed to have worn a bright orange wig around the time of a fatal pub shooting in north London.
Erdem Mustafa, 35, was shot dead in Hertford Road, Enfield, on Monday October 19. The Metropolitan Police are now trying to trace Abreham Woldegiworgis, 35, who they believe is the person seen in CCTV footage wearing a grey beanie and thought to be in a bright orange wig.
Manhunt Underway
Woldegiworgis is an Ethiopian national with links to Enfield, as well as Haringey and Brixton. The force said the man they want to speak to has since “significantly altered his appearance” from the CCTV footage.
Anyone who sees him is urged not to approach him, but to contact police immediately. The fresh appeal comes after a 23-year-old man was arrested on Monday on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder. He remains in police custody.
Targeted Attack
Mr Mustafa was shot dead at a pub at about 9.30pm on October 19 in what detectives believe was a targeted attack.
Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo said: “We remain committed to securing justice for Erdem as our thoughts remain with his loved ones at this unimaginably hard time.
“While I am pleased my team have made an arrest, our work continues at pace to investigate the full circumstances around Erdem’s murder.
“We are now releasing the details and images of a man we urgently need to speak to in connection with the incident.
“We are carrying out a number of inquiries to trace him but are also asking for the public’s help.
“If you recognise him or have any information on his whereabouts please come forward.
“We are still appealing for anyone with wider information about the shooting, including any CCTV, doorbell, dashcam or mobile phone footage, to also contact us.”
