Police Hunt Gang of Four Women After Brazen Distraction Burglary in North London
Police hunt four women over London distraction burglary

The Metropolitan Police have launched a public appeal for information following a sophisticated distraction burglary carried out by a group of four women in North London. The incident, which took place in the Haringey area, saw the thieves brazenly steal a safe containing a significant sum of money.

According to police reports, the women targeted a residential property on Sunday, 3rd September. They cunningly gained entry to the home by engaging the occupant in conversation at the front door. While one suspect distracted the resident, her accomplices slipped inside unnoticed.

Inside the Burglary

Once inside, the gang located and stole a safe. The Metropolitan Police have not disclosed the exact amount of cash taken, but have confirmed it was a substantial sum. The suspects then fled the scene, leaving the victim unharmed but undoubtedly shaken.

In a bid to track down the culprits, detectives from the North Area Burglary Team have released clear CCTV images of four women they urgently wish to identify and speak to in connection with the crime.

Police Appeal to the Public

Detective Constable Jack Malin, the investigating officer, stated: "This was an upsetting experience for the victim, who was targeted in their own home. We are committed to identifying those responsible and are asking for the public's help."

He further urged residents to be vigilant: "Always ensure you know who is at your door before opening it. If you are unsure, do not open it. Genuine callers will not mind you checking their credentials."

Anyone with information, or who recognises the women from the CCTV footage, is urged to contact the police immediately by calling 101 and quoting reference number 4879919/23. Information can also be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
