Two paramedics were violently assaulted while responding to an emergency call in Chadwell Heath, East London, sparking outrage and calls for increased protection for healthcare workers.
The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning when the London Ambulance Service crew arrived at a residential address in Romford. According to reports, the medics were physically attacked while attempting to provide medical assistance.
Police Investigation Underway
The Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation into the assault. A spokesperson confirmed that officers were called to the scene following reports of an attack on emergency service personnel.
"We take assaults on emergency workers extremely seriously," the spokesperson stated. "An investigation is ongoing, and we're following several lines of enquiry."
