From toilet sex to duct-tape: most outrageous flight antics revealed
Outrageous flight antics: toilet sex, brawls, and more

From couples caught having sex in plane loos to boozy brawls at 35,000ft, flyers are lifting the lid on the most jaw-dropping behaviour seen in the skies. Holiday routes to party hotspots like Ibiza have been hit by claims of mid-air hook-ups, aisle dance “parties” and fights with cabin crew, while other trips have ended with police waiting on the tarmac.

The shocking roll-call also includes passengers accused of masturbating next to strangers and one notorious troublemaker who was forcibly duct-taped after spewing slurs and sparking chaos. This week a boozed-up woman who exposed her vagina to horrified passengers on a TUI flight after pulling down her underwear and squatting in the aisle was warned she faces jail. Sarah Parker's behaviour took place on a flight to Melbourne in Florida from Birmingham Airport on July 24 last year.

Toilet sex and aisle parties

A Ryanair flight from Dublin to Ibiza turned into a nightmare at 30,000 feet, with passengers allegedly engaging in a wild drinking spree and having sex in the toilets for 10 minutes. There were also claims of one person trying to organise “hook-ups” on the flight. The unnamed passenger, a frequent visitor to Ibiza, claimed other passengers felt uneasy right from the moment they arrived at the departure gates at Dublin Airport.

In a separate incident, a randy couple were caught on camera having sex in the toilet during an easyJet flight as their fellow passengers cheered loudly. The viral video, shared online by Aney Stokes, captured the moment the lovers got frisky in the plane toilet onboard a flight from Luton to Ibiza.

Fights with crew and passengers

A British man appeared to start a fight with flight attendants before boarding his plane to Ibiza. The man didn't even manage to make it off the runway before he was banished. According to a video gone viral, the man “smacked a crew guarding the plane's door”.

Hollywood star Selma Blair was arrested for allegedly trying to open a plane door mid-flight. She was accused of causing the disturbance on a Delta Airlines flight to JFK Airport last month and of biting a cabin crew member.

Boisterous Brits transformed their flight into an unforgettable experience after they “threw a party” in the aisle of a Ryanair aircraft. Passenger TJ Wright was left gobsmacked after her trip abroad for a festival turned into chaotic mid-air dancing. According to TJ, the flight transformed into a party after one passenger hurled a bottle at another. The troublemaker was apparently fed up with the racket coming from the seats behind her.

Sexual misconduct and other incidents

Four British Airways cabin crew were suspended after a female flight attendant allegedly lifted her top and propositioned a night shift hotel worker in exchange for a bottle of wine. Reports claim the stewardess, who was allegedly drunk, urged the hotel worker to “have a go on these funbags” as she “jigged up and down”. The crew had reportedly operated the final flight of the day from London to Belfast and began drinking at their hotel at around 9pm.

A 25-year-old woman claimed she was forced to sit next to a man who was allegedly masturbating on a flight, accusing airline staff of letting the passenger walk off the plane with no consequences. She claimed United Airlines staff said there were no other seats available for her after she reported that the man was pleasuring himself in the seat next to her. The woman said the man looked to be around 35 to 40 and described him as “pretty normal looking” and “unassuming”.

In a separate incident, a woman was reportedly terrified to discover a male passenger allegedly pleasuring himself next to her at 36,000 feet on a United Airlines plane. Another troubling episode occurred when Katy Inzer, 46, was accused of pulling down her pants and masturbating on a busy American Airlines flight on September 11.

Two business class passengers were hauled off a plane by police after it landed for allegedly having sex on board. The 54-year-old male architect and a 59-year-old female were taken away for questioning when the aircraft landed at Rosario International Airport in Argentina from Panama in the early hours of yesterday morning (November 4). The pair were accused of making out in their seats rather than opting to go to the toilet together to “join the mile-high club”.

Meltdowns and arrests

Lauren Nash, 38, went into a meltdown after barging her way onto a plane while drunk. She flew into a rage as officers tried to escort her off the flight after she admitted she “wasn't worried about the other passengers”. The incident occurred on board an American Airlines flight from Tampa Airport earlier this year.

A travel blogger went viral after refusing to swap her prized aisle seat with a fellow passenger who then sobbed for three hours on a long-haul flight. Tomiko Harvey said she was flying from Istanbul, Turkey to Washington, D.C., in the US, when a woman asked her to give up her pre-selected aisle seat, so she could sit next to her husband during the 10-hour-plus journey. But Harvey didn't budge.

A 33-year-old man was arrested at a major airport after reportedly trying to open a plane's door mid-flight, forcing crew and passengers to restrain him before landing. The horror unfolded on a Lufthansa flight from Bogotá to Frankfurt. The passenger allegedly stood up from his seat and shook one of the emergency doors.

Lawrence Raben, 48, was taken into police custody after authorities claimed he unbuttoned his pants in an airport waiting area before urinating on a seven-year-old boy and his parents. The man allegedly began peeing in the direction of the couple and their son, who police say were splashed with urine.

Mid-air brawls and diversions

A Ryanair flight bound for Ibiza erupted into mayhem after a massive scrap broke out between passengers mid-flight. Tensions exploded at 35,000ft during what became an absolutely chaotic journey to the popular Brit holiday destination. Harry Watson, 28, was among numerous holidaymakers who witnessed the enormous punch-up at the rear of the aircraft. The main troublemaker refused to return to his seat despite the seatbelt sign being on, insisting he needed to use the “toilet”.

In another disturbing event, a routine three-hour flight from London Stansted to Albania descended into a chaotic 12-hour ordeal featuring mid-air “mutiny”, a wrestling air hostess and a double diversion through a raging storm. Flight RK8288 to Tirana quickly turned into mayhem as rowdy festival-goers and stag groups boarded clutching duty-free alcohol.

Sarah Parker, 30, who boarded the plane drunk, got out of her seat to use the bathroom during take-off despite being given strict instructions not to. Layne Lundeen, 67, a realtor from Arizona, in the US, was accused of hurling racist and homophobic slurs at a fellow passenger and cabin crew during an in-flight outburst. He claimed in court that he had no recollection of the disorderly episode, which was filmed and photographed, before eventually going viral. He appeared before District Court Commissioner George Haag at the Jennifer Road Detention Center in Annapolis, Maryland, the morning after his September 3 flight from Dallas to Newark was diverted to Baltimore due to his violent, slur-fuelled outburst.
