Nottingham Fire: Police Close Road Near Rock City

Emergency services have descended on a busy Nottingham city centre road after a fire broke out at a popular music venue. Police have closed off the junction of Clarendon Street and Talbot Street, near the Rock City venue, setting up a cordon as fire crews, police, and ambulance teams respond to the incident.

Emergency Response

Fire engines are in attendance, with an aerial ladder deployed to tackle the blaze. At least four ambulances and seven police vehicles are also at the scene. A police officer at the cordon confirmed to Nottinghamshire Live reporter Louis Corbett that the incident involves a suspected small fire on the roof of Rock City. The aerial ladder platform is now positioned above the music venue and nightclub.

Ongoing Situation

According to Louis Corbett, firefighters on the ladder are not currently extinguishing the fire but appear to be pointing at the roof of the venue. The situation remains under assessment as emergency crews work to ensure safety. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to avoid the area while the cordon remains in place.
