A mother and her male partner have been sentenced to prison for committing a series of sexual offences against the woman's two teenage daughters. The pair appeared at Leicester Crown Court, where they were jailed for their crimes.
Background of the Case
The court heard that the mother, who cannot be named to protect the identities of the victims, was a drug addict. Her daughters had been removed from her care by social services when they were young. Despite this, she and her partner subjected the girls to repeated sexual abuse.
Sentencing Details
Judge Timothy Spencer QC described the abuse as an 'utter betrayal' of trust. The mother was sentenced to 14 years in prison, while her partner received a 20-year sentence. Both will be required to register as sex offenders for life.
This case highlights the devastating impact of parental abuse on vulnerable children. The victims have shown immense courage in coming forward and testifying against their abusers.
