Mickey Mouse actor arrested in 281-man paedophile sting

A former Disney World Mickey Mouse actor has been arrested as part of a major investigation into suspected child predators in Florida. Collin Klaco, 25, was one of 281 people detained in the sting operation, according to Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd.

Thirteen of those arrested were reported to have worked for Disney World. Klaco was caught after allegedly communicating online with an undercover officer posing as a 13-year-old boy.

Alleged Online Communications

Police said Klaco told the detective that he wanted to have a sexual encounter with the boy and wanted to meet in a public family restroom to "do something" to him. He also allegedly told the detective he used to work at Disney.

Sheriff Judd described Klaco as possibly the "sickest, nastiest person" ever arrested by his office. "He was very proud to tell us that he at one time was a Mickey Mouse character. He was a former Disney Mickey Mouse character, okay?" the sheriff said. "He had the high, squeaky voice too, by the way. He may be the sickest, nastiest person we’ve ever arrested."

Items Found in His Possession

When Klaco arrived at the arranged location, detectives said they found wipes and nappies in his bag, including some that were Disney-branded. "He was into diapers," Judd said. "You know, diapers, and he had two backpacks full of diapers. He wanted to wear diapers. He wanted to put diapers on the children, and he wanted to do all kinds of nasty stuff. None of which we can talk about."

Charges Filed

Klaco faces charges of traveling to meet a minor, use of a computer to solicit a guardian, use of a two-way communication device to commit a felony, and attempted lewd/lascivious battery on a minor.
