Man Stabbed Outside Tesco Express in Wood Green

A man has been rushed to hospital following a stabbing outside a Tesco Express in Wood Green, north London, in the early hours of this morning. The incident occurred on High Road, in the Green Lanes area, shortly after 4am.

Emergency services, including paramedics and a trauma team from London's Air Ambulance, treated the victim for a single knife wound at the scene. He was subsequently taken to a major trauma centre. His current condition remains unknown.

High Road has been closed in both directions between Arcadian Gardens and Lyndhurst Road, with a police cordon in place in front of the shop. The road is typically busy and runs towards Wood Green Tube station as part of Green Lanes. Several houses and the Arcadian Gardens Medical Centre overlook the scene.

London Ambulance Service Statement

A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 4.03am today (19 May) to reports of a stabbing on High Road, Wood Green. We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car, an incident response officer and a clinical team manager. We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance. We treated a man for a stab wound and took him to a major trauma centre."

Police investigations are ongoing, and no arrests have been reported at this time. Residents and commuters are advised to avoid the area as the road closure remains in effect.
