Man murders boss and tries to eat corpse in Mexico City

A man in Mexico City allegedly murdered his boss and then attempted to eat his remains in the middle of the street.

Fatal row in Iztacalco

The conversation between Humberto Joel, known as 'El Gabachito', who was involved in drug distribution, and his employee Luis Ángel, known locally as Alán, erupted into a furious row in the Iztacalco area of Mexico City.

Witnesses report that the two men were talking outside El Gabachito's house in the Carlos Zapata Vela area before it escalated. Alán reportedly pushed his boss against a pickup truck before beating him relentlessly.

He then proceeded to shoot him in the head, with the gunshot waking neighbours in the early hours of the morning.

Attempt to eat remains

Witnesses report seeing Alán approaching the victim's body before he began to bite the corpse. When questioned by onlookers, he reportedly screamed that he was going to eat his boss's remains.

The suspect then allegedly called an acquaintance, Victor Hugo, to help him flee the crime scene. Hugo arrived shortly afterwards in a sports car and the pair fled before the police arrived.

Arrest and investigation

Surveillance footage and accounts from neighbours helped authorities locate the two men, and they were ultimately arrested.

After their arrest police found a 9mm Taurus Bainbridge pistol in the vehicle, which had allegedly been used to kill the victim.

While police initially thought the killing was the result of a road-rage incident, further investigations suggested that revenge could have been the true motive behind it.

Authorities report that the relationship between Alán, 20, and El Gabachito, 30, had soured because the latter had committed a past murder, a crime for which a relative of Alán had reportedly been blamed.

Police investigations also revealed that accomplice Hugo, 26, had previously served time in prison in 2025 for aggravated robbery and drug dealing.

According to reports in Mexico, the victim had previously served two jail terms. He was reportedly imprisoned in 2012 for a gang-related robbery. In 2020, he was again jailed for aggravated robbery and the illegal possession of a firearm. Alán also reportedly spent time inside in 2024 for robbery and small-scale drug dealing.

The Attorney General's Office is focusing its investigation on the reasons for the brawl, with eyewitness accounts gathered by the police. Despite this, the authorities have not ruled out the possibility that the murder was drug-related.
