Man charged with murder after woman found dead in Tottenham

A man has been formally charged with murder after a woman was found dead in a Tottenham flat, in a case that has sent shockwaves through the North London community.

Metropolitan Police officers were called to the residential address in the early hours of Tuesday morning, where they discovered the body of a 39-year-old woman. The scene was immediately secured as a crime scene.

A 40-year-old man, who was known to the victim, was arrested at the location. He has since been charged with murder and is set to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court.

While formal identification is yet to be completed, the victim's next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers. A post-mortem examination will be conducted in due course to establish the exact cause of death.
