The Northumbria Police officer died in the line of duty on June 8, 2026, after being struck by a vehicle while closing a road following a collision.
Emotional tributes from family and chief constable
PC Turnbull's parents, Janice and Andy, released a moving statement after the funeral, saying: "While our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing how much she was loved. Jess will always be in our hearts and thoughts. We miss her every day, but the memories we shared and the love she brought into our lives will stay with us forever. Thank you to everyone who has supported our family and helped us through this unimaginable loss."
