Houston News Anchor, 55, Shocks as Grandfather

A youthful-looking news anchor in Houston has left viewers and followers astonished after revealing he has become a grandfather. Keith Garvin, who has spent over three decades in broadcast television, shared the heartwarming news on social media on Tuesday, introducing his newborn grandson, Ezra Keith.

Heartwarming Announcement

Garvin posted photos of himself cradling the baby boy, prompting an outpouring of reactions from followers who questioned his age and praised his timeless appearance. Despite looking like he is in his 30s, the news anchor will turn 56 this August.

'It feels absolutely amazing to be a grandfather! Life really changed the moment I held him for the first time,' Garvin told KPRC. The father of four daughters explained that he and his wife, Lisa, had children young so they could be active grandparents. 'We are absolutely in love with this little baby boy and thanking God for this beautiful blessing,' he wrote. 'It feels like our lives and world have been re-centered, and we love it.'

Disbelief and Compliments

Garvin noted that many commenters expressed disbelief, a reaction he often receives. 'I laugh every time I hear that,' he said, adding that he still has days when he feels his age. He replied to skeptics, including a user who wrote, 'No way you're old enough to be a grandpa,' to which Garvin responded, 'I definitely feel old...but still pretty spry!' Another comment read, 'There is absolutely no way you are old enough to be a grandfather, but congrats anyway,' and Garvin answered, 'It's true! Thank you!'

Plans for Grandson

Garvin told KPRC that he wants to be a constant presence in his grandson's life, rooted in faith. 'I want my grandson to know that I love Jesus more than anything. But I also want him to know that I love him dearly,' the grandfather said. He looks forward to taking Ezra for ice cream, fishing trips, and attending his games. His daughter and the baby, born about a month ago, are doing well.
