Four charged after dramatic police chase in Glasgow

Four men have been charged following a dramatic police chase through Glasgow that ended with a manhunt involving police dogs and a helicopter. The pursuit began late at night after officers spotted a stolen black Vauxhall Corsa using “cloned” registration plates.

Chase through residential streets

Dash-cam footage recorded by Police Scotland officers shows the Corsa overtaking their vehicle on a residential street before speeding away. The vehicle can be seen cutting corners carelessly and driving on the wrong side of the road.

The car then mounted pavements and drove over speed bumps before the occupants abandoned it in the Springhill area and fled on foot.

Manhunt and arrests

Officers launched an extensive search involving officers on foot, police dogs and a helicopter. Bodycam footage shows one male hiding under a van and another in bushes.

Four men, two aged 23, one aged 25 and one aged 27, were discovered hiding in a variety of different places. They were wanted for several outstanding matters and have since been arrested and charged over several crimes.

Investigation context

The police action came as part of a probe investigating a series of housebreakings and theft of vehicles in the region. A Police Scotland statement said the incidents generally occurred during the early hours of the morning and involved suspects arriving in a small black car.

The statement added that all four men appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday 23rd October 2026, and that enquiries into several linked incidents remain ongoing.
