A serious collision in Alloa, Scotland, has resulted in five people being taken to hospital after a car struck a group of pedestrians. The incident occurred on the A907 Clackmannan Road on Sunday at approximately 2:40 PM.
Victims and Injuries
A 12-year-old boy sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow. A 43-year-old woman was treated for minor injuries at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow and later discharged. An eight-year-old boy and an 81-year-old woman were taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital and released after treatment. The driver, a 70-year-old man in a Grey Kia Ceed, was also checked by medical professionals at the hospital.
Police Investigation
Road closures were implemented and most were lifted by 8:45 PM, except for a closure near Alloa Stadium. Inspector David Marr of Police Scotland’s Forth Valley road policing unit stated: “Our inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are appealing to anyone who saw what happened to get in touch. If you were driving in the area around the time, particularly just before the incident happened, then please check any dashcam you have in case something has been captured that could help with our investigation.”
