Family's plea for missing Cornwall woman Marie Green

The family of a missing young mother from Cornwall have made an emotional public appeal, stating they 'just want her home safe'. Devon and Cornwall Police have expressed serious concern for the welfare of 26-year-old Marie Green, who was reported missing on Tuesday, 2 December.

Family's Emotional Appeal for Marie's Safe Return

Marie's sister, Charlotte, has spoken out about the family's growing distress. She described Marie as a 'fun, kind person' and an 'amazing mum' who is currently 'going through a hard time'. Charlotte revealed that her sister has been struggling with her mental health, compounded by bullying which has deeply affected her.

'Her depression and bullying around her has made her think she's worthless, which she couldn't be more wrong,' Charlotte stated. She emphasised that while Marie has never gone missing before, there had been concerning signs. The family's message is clear and heartfelt: 'We don't care where she's been or what she's been doing, we just want her home safe with us all!'

Police Investigation and Last Known Sightings

Detective Sergeant Mark Buckingham confirmed that officers are pursuing multiple lines of enquiry, including extensive CCTV reviews, to locate Marie safely. The last confirmed sighting was captured on CCTV at the McDonald's restaurant in Truro at approximately 5:30pm on Tuesday, 2 December.

Police have released that image in the hope it will jog the memory of the public. It is believed that after being at McDonald's, Marie boarded a bus heading towards Truro City Centre. An earlier sighting placed her in the Polmeere Road area of Truro at around 2pm the same day.

Marie Green, who is from Penzance, is also known to use the names Mary-Lou Green and Marie Darker. She is described as:

  • Around 5 feet 3 inches tall.

  • Has blonde hair.

She has distinctive tattoos: the word 'sisters' across her collarbone and the name 'Isobel' on her wrist.

Detective Sergeant Buckingham urged anyone with information to come forward immediately. 'We hope the restaurant's CCTV image may result in members of the public coming forward with more sightings and information,' he said.

Anyone who sees Marie or has information on her whereabouts is asked to call 999 immediately, quoting police log number 737 of 2 December.
